Good afternoon students & staff, it is time for the afternoon announcements.

 

Highland Hills Middle School Afternoon Announcement for Monday, August 1, 2022

 

• We want to welcome our new receptionist, Christin Brown to Highland Hills.  She will be the smiling face at our front desk window when you visit.

• Thank you to all of our Jag Ambassadors for their help with registration and giving new student tours. We appreciate your leadership.

• Students, you should have received your Chromebook today.  Please make sure that you take it home and charge it fully before bringing it back tomorrow.

• Students, just a reminder that you should be scanning your bus pass as you get on and off of your bus.  This is helpful in an emergency situation for us to know who is on the bus.  It is NOT required to have a bus pass at this time.  Please be patient with us as we need to get passes out to our new students.  Thank you

 

• Immunization deadline is set for Friday, August 26th.  (Dr. Griffin put out an all call on July 28th about this) Please contact the school nurse if you have any questions.  NAFCS will be following the Indiana State Guidelines and don’t want your student to be excluded from the school setting due to not being in compliance.  Thanks for keeping everyone safe!

 

• Car Rider Drop off – Please be sure to say your goodbyes before you pull into school.  If vehicles stay bumper to bumper then we can get more vehicles off the main road.  Thank you

 

 

Athletics Announcements (We also have an athletic bulletin board located in the Commons near the pool)

 

• Girls Volleyball Tryouts for HHMS

  • Tuesday, August 2nd & Wednesday, August 3rd

  • 7th/8th grade: 4-5:30 & 5th/6th grade: 5:30-7

  • Parent meeting will be Monday, August 8th in the cafeteria for 7th and 8th grade at 5:30.

  • Parent meeting for 5/6th grade will be at 7pm in the cafeteria

• Cross Country – There will be a parent meeting on Wednesday, August 3rd @ 6pm in the HHMS Cafeteria.

• Football – Practice daily (Monday – Thursday) starting Tuesday, August 2nd from 4-6pm. (No practice will be held on August 1st) Reminder……no football practice today.  Practice will resume tomorrow after school, full pads.

 

Clubs (We have a club bulletin board located in the Commons near the Cafe’)

 

 

• Congratulations to the Floyds Knobs Community Club Softball All Star Team. The 12U girls won the State Championship and went on to represent Indiana in the Little League World Series Central Region. The girls eliminated 5 states before falling 4-3 in the championship game. They were one of the final 16 teams in the country!  Team members included: Maya Brogan, Natalie Curtis, Aubrey Duckworth, Emory Hegadus, Kenlee Howell, Lucy Isaacs, Maddie Ising, Shealee Kerley, Addison Marcum, Alaina Payne, Lindsay Platt, Adyson Rohman, and Emma Warren.  Congratulations Girls!

 

• Campus Life will begin on Wednesday, August 17th after school until 5:00pm in the Cafeteria.  See Kevin Becht with any questions @ kbecht@yfc.net

• Riverside Aquatic Club is hosting new swim team member evaluations

When: August 16, 17, 18 5:30 – 7:00 pm August 20 9:00 – 10:30 am

Where: Highland Hills Middle School

Bring your suit and goggles to be evaluated for group placement.
