Highland Hills Middle School Afternoon Announcement for Thursday, June 2, 2022

Thank you to Moses for saying our announcements today!

 

• Students, please don’t forget to take home your instruments.

 

• BUS Passes ~ PLEASE KEEP OVER THE SUMMER! Students need to take their Zonar Bus Tags home on the last day of school. If students are attending summer school, please scan on and off the bus like normal.  It may be helpful to keep the tag on your backpack over the summer so you’ll have it for the beginning of the year.

 

 

• The following HHMS bus drivers will be retiring this year.  If you happen to see them, be sure to wish them well:

  • Mr. Best – 63 years driving!

  • Mrs. Emerson – 29 years driving!

 

• We also want to wish our HHMS Staff that is retiring this year: Mrs. Thrasher, Mrs. Meyer, Mrs. Emerson, Mrs. Strause, and Ms. Angst.  We wish them all the best!

 

If your student did not turn in their Chromebook device, please drop it off at Door 1 (main office)

 

There will be a Children’s Walk-In Immunization Clinic at the Floyd County Health Department on Saturday, June 18th, 2022 from 10am to 2pm.

 

 

Athletics Announcements (We also have an athletic bulletin board located in the Commons near the pool)

 

Boys Soccer Conditioning ~ Summer conditioning will occur on the following dates July 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, 28 from 7-8:30pm at the HHMS soccer fields.  These are optional conditioning sessions.  Please bring running shoes, cleats, shin guards, a ball and plenty of water.  If you have any questions please contact Mike Campbell at michacam73@gmail.com or 502-939-6760.

There will be a FC Soccer Camp (9th annual) again this summer. July 18th weeknights at Floyd Central soccer fields with a start time of 6:30pm. Boys and Girls ages 7 – 15. If anyone has questions, they can email floydcentralsoccercamp@gmail.com.

 

• The boys’ tennis team at FCHS will have open courts on Mondays and Wednesdays during the summer. The first one will happen on Monday, June 13th. Monday sessions will last from 1-3 PM, and Wednesday sessions will occur from 8:30-10:30 AM. All boys are encouraged to show up.

• Fall football will begin on July 18th, M-Th from 6:00-8:00 pm. Players will meet in locker room.  There will NOT be any practice on August 1st.

• Volleyball Tryouts for HHMS

  • Tuesday, August 2nd

  • Wednesday, August 3rd

  • 7th/8th grade: 4-5:30

  • 5th/6th grade: 5:30-7

  • Parent meeting will be Monday, August 8th in the cafeteria for 7th and 8th grade at 5:30.

  • Parent meeting for 5/6th grade will be at 7pm in the cafeteria

 

Clubs (We have a club bulletin board located in the Commons near the Cafe’)

 

 

Good luck to any of our Jaguars that perform or play this summer.  Remember that there are three things that YOU can control: your attitude, your actions, and your effort.  Give it your best!  Have a great afternoon and a great summer.

• Effective immediately, there is a $2.00 charge for any reprints of the Z-Pass (Bus Pass).  These will be used again next school year.  Students will need to hang onto their pass for the 22-23 school year.

 

• Students, just a reminder that you should be scanning your bus pass as you get on and off of your bus.  This is helpful in an emergency situation for us to know who is on the bus.  Thank you
