Youth and Government is an Indiana program through the YMCA for students to learn about how the government works, learn to write bills, debate them, and “pass” them into law.  If your student loves to debate, is interested in law or politics, this might be a great fit for them.  Students that are interested in this opportunity are invited to join our local delegation.  Fall meetings will take place at the Floyd County YMCA (33 State St, New Albany, IN 47150).  Families do not have to be YMCA members to participate.  Please email Amanda McCoy, amccoy@nafcs.org, if you have any questions.

  • This year, Highland Hills will be hosting a Field of Flags fundraiser for the Disabled American Veterans. The DAV provides critical support to America’s ill and injured veterans. For each $10 donation, HHMS will receive a flag to plant in our field. We hope to cover our front lawn in flags to show our support for America’s heroes. Our flags will be on display for our Veterans Day Program, which will be held on November 10.  Will you fly a flag to honor and support our veterans? Use this link to add your flag to our field today! https://support.dav.org/campaign/hhmsflags   All of the donations are collected through the website and go to the DAV. Please email Rebecca Davis  rdavis1@nafcs.org if you have any questions. Thank you!

Athletics Announcements (We also have an athletic bulletin board located in the Commons near the pool)

  • The 7/8 boys soccer team beat Hazelwood on Wednesday night by a score of 8-0! There was pre-game dancing and post-game celebrations on the last regular season game of the year! These boys are fun to be around, have good energy, and play like beasts on the field!  The offensive attack was balanced with eight different goal scorers (Reid Vincent, Drew Franks, Braxton NesSmith, Jacob Fox, Theo Elslager, Anderson Elsbury, Hunter Cottingham, and AJ Sprigler) and some unselfish assists by Kage Braun and Travis Harris. Strong, and at times interesting goalie plays, kept the opposing team from scoring a goal. The Beast Award for Man-of-the-Match went to Kage Braun for his hustle and giving up his own goal scoring opportunities to help teammates!

  • Boys tennis team won 4-1 last night against Clarksville. Finishing the regular season at 3-3. They will compete in the Clark/ Floyd tournament Saturday at Jeffersonville High School.
  • Are you interested in learning more about Golf?
