Highland Hills Afternoon Announcement for Tuesday, May 5, 2021

 

  • Yearbook ~ Online sales for the yearbooks have been extended until Wednesday, May 19! Visit www.yearbookforever.com to purchase your yearbook. Yearbooks will be distributed on Tuesday, May 25. Make sure you reserve your copy!

 

  • All library books need to be returned by Friday, May 14.

*You are able to wear hats on twin day.

ATHLETICS Announcements (We also have an athletic bulletin board located in the Commons near the pool)

 

  • Girls Tennis ~ No green team practice today due to away match at Scribner

 

  • Girls Basketball conditioning ~ Coach Gianfagna wanted to let you know that due to scheduling issues basketball workouts are finished for the school year.

 

  • Clark/Floyd Track Meet scheduled for today will have an admission fee of $3 per person for MS Students through adults.

  • HHMS SOFTBALL – The Gold Team lost in a nail biter game to Corydon, 4-6. Nora Koehler and Olive Kinder both had dingers over the left field fence. Emmy Miller had 10 strikeouts in the circle.  The Green team stole the lead late and defeated the Corydon 7th grade team Monday night 2-1.  Aubrey Duckworth and Eva Casteel toed the rubber for the Jaguars. Charley Allgeier,  Shealee Kerley and Lindsay Platt led the team with one hit each.

 

Clubs (We also have a club bulletin board located in the Commons near the Cafe’)

  • Campus Life:  for 7th & 8th graders will meet on Tuesdays after school until 5:00pm in room C-130.  The final Campus Life of the year for 5th & 6th graders will be this Friday, May 7 after school in the cafeteria until 5pm. Be sure not to miss this special finale.

  • Intramurals (Enter Door 28) ~

    • 7th and 8th grade  ~ Thursday at 7:30am in the gym.

    • 5th and 6th grade  ~ Friday at 7:30am in the gym.

    • If you have any questions, please see Mr. Michell or Ms. Fox.

OTHER Announcements

 

  • Chromebooks ~ 5th – 7th Grade Students will keep their Chromebooks over the summer and have for the start of school for next year.  We will NOT collect at the end of May.  Technology will be taking an inventory before the end of school.

 

  • iPads ~ 8th Grade Students will turn in their devices on the last student day, May 27.  Virtual students can drop them off on Friday, May 28 during office hours.

  • Important Dates:

    • Elementary Visits to HHMS:

      • May 18 – Greenville – 9:15 – 10:30

      • May 19 – FKE – 9:15 – 10:30

      • May 21 – Georgetown – 9:15 – 10:30

    • PTO Meeting – Monday, May 17 @ 5pm in the Library

    • 8th Grade Awards Day (in-person) – Thursday, May 27 (more info to come) *Virtual Awards Day for Grades 5 – 7.

    • Last Student Day – Thursday, May 27

    • Teachers Last Day/Virtual Students return iPads – Friday, May 28

    • First Student Day for the 2021-22 School Year – Tuesday, August 3rd

    • Incident-IQ Help Desk system ~ Visit https://nafcs.incidentiq.com/ -if prompted, enter your school Google login information or call  812-542-4700 and use option 1, on school days between 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM.  Please leave a message with your name, school and overview of the issue you are experiencing.  Please do not call your school building directly and ask for tech support.

  • Technology issues for In-Person (only if you are at school today)

If the student is in-person at HHMS, have one of their teachers contact Lanny Howard to set up a time to be seen that school day.  There are also paper copies of request forms to explain the situation that are available outside his office.
