Highland Hills Afternoon Announcement for Tuesday, March 2, 2021

•   Campus Life for 7th & 8th graders will meet on today after school until 4:45 in room C-130

ATHLETICS Announcements 

• Girls Tennis: Parent meeting will be on Wednesday, March 3rd at 5:00pm in the HHMS Cafeteria.

• Boys Track: Conditioning begins Monday, March 8th from 5:00-6:00pm.  (A physical must be on file in order to try out)  Parent meeting following in the cafeteria. Athletes should have a water bottle, mask, and a towel.

• Girls Track: Conditioning begins Monday, March 15th from 4:00-5:00pm.  (A physical must be on file in order to try out) Parent meeting on March 8th in the HHMS cafeteria at 4:00pm. Athletes should have a water bottle, mask, and a towel.

• Girls Golf Tryouts will be March 23 & March 25. Be sure to register by March 19! (A physical must be on file in order to try out)  Rain date will be Friday, March 26.  There will be a parent meeting on April 5th (revised) after practice for those selected for the team. Athletes need to provide their own clubs, golf balls, and masks.  All tryouts and parent meetings will be at Valley View Golf Course-HHMS will not provide transportation.

• Boys Golf Tryouts will be March 22 & March 24.  (A physical must be on file in order to try out)  Rain date will be Thursday, March 25.   If the rain out date is not necessary, practice from 4-5pm and the Parent meeting at 5pm on 3/25.  Athletes need to provide their own clubs, golf balls, and masks.  All tryouts and parent meetings will be at Valley View Golf Course-HHMS will not provide transportation.

• Riverside Aquatic Club is hosting new swim team member evaluations

When:    Wednesday March 22, 23, 24, 25 5:30-7:00 pm

Where: Highland Hills Middle School

Bring your suit and goggles to be evaluated for group placement.

  • ILEARN Assessment – April 19 – May 14 *more details will come later about virtual students taking this assessment.

The state’s Rental Assistance Portal is now accepting applications for the Indiana Emergency Rental Assistance (IERA) program.

IERA can provide eligible renters with up to twelve (12) months of rental assistance. Qualifying applicants may also receive utility and/or home energy assistance for past due utilities (electric, gas, water, sewer, and trash) and home energy (fuel oil, wood, coal, pellets, and propane) expenses and internet/ broadband assistance for past due internet expenses.

You may be eligible for the program if you meet the following criteria:

• Qualify for unemployment or have experienced a reduction in household income, incurred significant costs, or experienced a financial hardship due to COVID-19

• Demonstrate a risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability

• Have a household income at or below 80 percent of the area median

If you meet the eligibility requirements listed above you are encouraged to apply for the program. However, this is not intended to be a complete list of eligibility requirements.

Important Note: Individuals living Elkhart County, Hamilton County, Lake County, Marion County (Indianapolis), the City of Fort Wayne, and St. Joseph County are not eligible to apply for the IERA program. Households living in these areas must apply for rental assistance with their local municipality.

• Technology issues for In-Person (only if you are at school today)

  • If the student is in-person at HHMS, have one of their teachers contact Lanny Howard to set up a time to be seen that school day.  There are also paper copies of request forms to explain the situation that are available outside his office.
