Highland Hills Afternoon Announcement for Tuesday, February 23, 2021

  • Schoolhouse Rock:

    • Tuesday, Feb. 23: Cast/tech list will be posted at 4:00 in Google Classroom.

                  *The Q & A Google Meet session for Virtual Only will be at 5:30.  That way, if you don’t make the show, you can tune in to the Google meet and participate virtually, if you choose.

  • 5th-8th grade girls interested in trying out for the girls golf team, please pick up a flyer in the lobby. Be sure to register by March 19!

  • Girls Golf Tryouts will be March 23 & March 25.  There will be a parent meeting on Thursday, March 25 for those selected for the team.  Rain date will be Friday, March 26(parent meeting following if necessary.)  Athletes need to provide their own clubs, golf balls, and masks.  All tryouts and parent meetings will be at Valley View Golf Course-HHMS will not provide transportation.

  • Boys Golf Tryouts will be March 22 & March 24.  Rain date will be Thursday, March 25.   If the rain out date is not necessary, practice from 4-5pm and the Parent meeting at 5pm on 3/25.  Athletes need to provide their own clubs, golf balls, and masks.  All tryouts and parent meetings will be at Valley View Golf Course-HHMS will not provide transportation.

  • Boys track: Conditioning begins Monday, March 8th from 5:00-6:00pm.  Parent meeting following in the cafeteria. Athletes should have a water bottle, mask, and a towel.

  • Girls track: Conditioning begins Monday, March 15th from 4:00-5:00pm. Parent meeting on March 8th in the HHMS cafeteria at 4:00pm. Athletes should have a water bottle, mask, and a towel.

  • HHMS Football Winter/Spring Workouts for 6th & 7th Grade Students – will be Tuesdays & Thursdays from 4:00 – 5:30pm each week beginning Feb. 22.  Please bring your mask (worn the entire time), tennis shoes, shorts, t-shirt, & water bottle.  All athletes welcome.  Please do not miss your current athletic practice to attend.

  • Swim Tryouts Rescheduled: 

    • 5th & 6th Grade Students on Wednesday, Feb. 24th from 4:00 – 5:00

    • 7th & 8th Grade Students on Thursday, Feb. 25th from 4:00 – 5:00

  • Our Robotics Club will have an additional meeting this Friday with our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. It will last until 5:30 and parents can pick them up at door #1.

  • Lost ‘n Found – Be sure to stop by and see if anything belongs to you.  We will be boxing up items at the end of the week.

  • Tuesday, March 2nd is Dr. Seuss’ Birthday ~ Dress as your favorite Book character.  School dress code still applies. There will be a special lunch that day: “Grinch Dog” ~ Hot Dog or “Cat in the Hat” ~ Yogurt parfait, “Horton Hears a Who” ~ Smiley fries, Carrots & Grinch dip, “Ten Apples” ~sauce, & “One, Fish, Two Fish” ~ Goldfish

  •  Campus Life for 7th & 8th graders will meet today after school until 4:45 in room C-130

    • ILEARN Assessment – April 19 – May 14 *more details will come later about virtual students taking this assessment.

      • Incident-IQ Help Desk system ~ Visit https://nafcs.incidentiq.com/ -if prompted, enter your school Google login information or call  812-542-4700 and use option 1, on school days between 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM.  Please leave a message with your name, school and overview of the issue you are experiencing.  Please do not call your school building directly and ask for tech support.

If the student is in-person at HHMS, have one of their teachers contact Lanny Howard to set up a time to be seen that school day.  There are also paper copies of request forms to explain the situation that are available outside his office.
