  • The Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) has issued new COVID-19 guidance for schools.  After working closely with the Floyd County Health Department, NAFCS will be making the following changes:

  • Effective Monday, February 21, 2022, masks become optional (parent choice).

  • COVID-19 positive individuals will continue to have a mandatory 5-day, stay-at-home isolation period.

    • In order to return to a school environment, positive individual cases must also wear a mask for an additional 5-day period (days 6-10).

  • Contact tracing is no longer required by the Indiana Department of Health. Therefore, your child will not be quarantined unless they test positive for COVID-19.

  • Due to federal transportation requirements, masks must still be worn while riding on a school bus (just like airplanes and city buses).

  • Please do not send your child to school if they have any symptoms of illness.

  • We appreciate everyone’s support during this challenging time.  As we have done for the past two years, we will continue to work with the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) as well as our local Floyd County Health Department (FCHD) and adjust our future guidance and policy as needed.

  • If your student is in quarantine, please remind them to get on Google Classroom to work asynchronously so they do not get behind on their classwork.

  • If the student has a pending covid test, please contact our school nurse, Heather Murray at 812.542.8501 or via email: hmurray@nafcs.org You may also email Mrs. Ivey @ wivey@nafcs.org.
