      STAR AWARDS

The STAR Awards are an opportunity for the Teachers and Staff to recognize “Students that are Terrific, Awesome, and Remarkable.”  The following awards are for Quarter 2.  First names only were used in the video presentation, but the certificates were emailed to the parents/guardians.

  • The 7th/8th Grade Girls Basketball Home Game tonight has been canceled due to the other school not having enough players.

  • Boys Basketball Results:

  • The 8th grade boys defeated South Central 60-55.  Sam Higgins scored 28 and Isaac Kaiser added 12.  Great defensive team win as HHMS forced 17 South Central turnovers.

  • The 7th grade boys basketball defeated South Central 35 to 29.  Clay Austin led the scoring for the Jags with 14 points.

  • The 6th Grade Boys Basketball won Monday night against Hazelwood 41 – 33.  Great team effort!

  • The 5th grade boys basketball team beat Hazelwood last night by a score of 57-17.  Hudson Smith and Hayden Smothers led the way with 8 points each.  Wyatt Borne had 7 points, while Miles Watson, Dylan Johnson, and Ethan Dragon chipped in 6 points each.  Cade Popplewell and Conner Carr also both scored 3 points.  Scoring 57 points without a single person scoring in double digits is an indication of a very unselfish team!  Coach Noble and the rest of us are very proud of your effort and sportsmanship!

Good luck to any of our Jaguars that perform or play this evening.

Remember to STAY HUMBLE, WORK HARD, and BE KIND!

Thank you for doing the Best of Your Ability!

Have a great afternoon.

  • If you have chosen the in-person option for your student this quarter and they need to be absent from school, please call them in absent to the attendance line.  You may also email our attendance clerk, Kate Burger: kburger@nafcs.org We ask that they log into Google Classroom and get their assignments.  We are discouraging any in-person student from logging in to Google Meet when they are absent from school (unless they are under quarantine).  The rationale behind this is due to safety concerns.  We want to ensure that we have an accurate account of virtual and in-person students each day. In a school of over 1700 students, safety and accurate attendance taking are critically important.  Thank you so much for your cooperation.

  • Please be aware that the New Albany-Floyd County Schools Technology department has options for students and families to receive technical support while on virtual or E-learning days. Your first choice (preferred) is to use our Incident-IQ Help Desk system. Secondly, you can call into our support line:  1) Visit https://nafcs.incidentiq.com/ -if prompted, enter your school Google login information 2) By phone: 812-542-4700 option 1, on school days between 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM -if your call goes to voicemail, please leave a message with your name, school and overview of the issue you are experiencing.  Please do not call your school building directly and ask for tech support. The options above are the best methods to make a request.

  • If the student is in-person at HHMS, have one of their teachers contact Lanny Howard to set up a time to be seen that school day.  There are also paper copies of request forms to explain the situation that are available outside his office.
