Highland Hills Middle School Afternoon Announcement for Tuesday, January 25, 2022

  • Prosser is a place where you can explore your natural talents, passions or simply gain new skills through hands-on learning. You can learn about different jobs ranging from computer programming, dentistry, welding to culinary arts! Let Prosser help you navigate your future plans! Take a look at our classrooms and lab spaces during our Open House on Thursday, January 27 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. (Note the date moved due to the weather)

 

  • The next PTO meeting will be 4:00pm on Monday, February 7th in the library. We’d love to have you there!

 

 

Athletics Announcements (We also have an athletic bulletin board located in the Commons near the pool)

 

  • The 8th grade girls basketball team defeated Madison on Monday by a score of 29 to 22 to improve their record to 12-1 on the season. Scoring for the Lady Jags was Eva Casteel with 12, Elise Coleman with 8, Ava Casteel with 4, Brinley Clark with 3, and Addy Ware with 2. The team also had a strong rebounding effort from Mia Gianfagna and Emmy Miller.

  • The 7th grade boys’ basketball team defeated South Central last night with a score of 52 – 20.  The entire team played with great effort and had awesome ball movement.  Everyone either scored or assisted on a field goal. The leading scorers were: Luke Jacobi 9, Nolan Kennedy 8, Landon Reed 8, Eli Robbeloth 6,  Jaxon Stone 5, Blake Wisman 5, Bryson Cook 4. The team plays Hazelwood at home this evening at 6:00 PM.

  • The 7th Grade Girls defeated Madison by 15 last night to improve to 12-2. The girls were led by the return of Shealee Kerley, Maya Brogan’s ballhanding, scoring from Riley Roberts and Jadyn Drury, and a big bucket by Carleigh Schlise. The Girls have two more road games this week before their tournament next week.

  • The 6th grade boys basketball team improved their record to 3-1 last night with a 45-10 victory over Hazelwood. Leading scorers were

    • Ethan Noble: 10 points

    • Noah Baker: 7 points

    • Luke Ellis: 6 points.

    • And Hudson Smith did a great job on defense with 2 blocked shots.

  • Last night our 8th grade boys basketball traveled to South Central and won 54 – 28.  It was another impressive victory with strong defense and great teamwork.  All 12 players scored while looking for each other and sharing the ball.  Leading scorers were Rayden Freiberger 9 points, Carter McQuigg 8 points, Maddox Baird 6 points, and Oakley Clevenger with 6 points.  Come cheer for your Jags tonight as they play Hazelwood at HHMS.

  • Highland Hills 5th grade boys basketball team defeated Hazelwood 47 to 8.  The team played  much better offensively and defensively.  We had a very balanced scoring attack led by Grahm Elrod with 15 points, Cameron Wymer with 10 points, Hudson Everett with 7 points and Xavier McCulloch with 6 points.

 

 

Tryout info for swimming and diving.  The dates/times are:

Tryouts:

5th/6th Grade Students: Tuesday February 8, 4:00 – 5:00

7th/8th Grade Students: Wednesday February 9, 4:00 – 5:00

 

 

Track conditioning will begin on the following date/times;

As HHMS GOLF season is quickly approaching, Coach Smith wants to share a resource some students might be interested in to improve their game. Old Capital Golf Course in Corydon will be hosting an array of clinics/leagues with options for all skill levels. This is a good way to improve your game. Click the link below.

  • Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) Club in Library from 3:45 – 4:45pm (Strause, Boehnlein, C. Hynes)

Due to RED status, we will not be having the RAK meeting previously scheduled for Thurs. Jan 27.  Students can watch/listen to announcements for the next meeting.

  • HHMS Math Homework Help 7/8th grade  21-22

Who:   7th and 8th grade students

When:  Tuesday and Thursday 3:45-4:45pm

STARTING ON THURSDAY, JAN 13TH

Where: A222 ( Mrs. Boling’s room)

Homework help – If you have math questions, come get them answered –  It’s free!To Sign up-

  • Sign up list will be located in the front office starting on the Friday before.

    • Post- Tuesday/Thursday list for the week the Friday morning before.

  • Number of spots is limited each week

    • Students should remove their name from the list if they find that they can’t attend. *Students waiting to get in should continue checking the list

IN Classroom –

  • Students MUST bring an assignment or specific questions to work on.

  • Teachers will not be providing material/worksheets/study material, etc.

  • Students will be asked to call parents to pick them up if they do not have material to practice or work on. (See math teacher or go online to find extra practice materials as needed.)

NOTE:  This is NOT one-on-one tutoring.   If you are looking for an individual tutor, you can contact your counselor or math teacher for suggestions.
