Highland Hills Afternoon Announcement for Thursday, May 6, 2021

• Yearbook ~ Online sales for the yearbooks have been extended until Wednesday, May 19! Visit www.yearbookforever.com to purchase your yearbook. Yearbooks will be distributed on Tuesday, May 25. Make sure you reserve your copy!

• All library books need to be returned by Friday, May 14.

*You are able to wear hats on twin day.

ATHLETICS Announcements (We also have an athletic bulletin board located in the Commons near the pool)

• The tennis match scheduled for today vs Crawford County is cancelled due to impending severe weather at the time of the match.

• Boys Basketball ~ Tuesday mornings basketball Shooting Skills Practice for all basketball players that want to improve their shooting skills.  Practice is open to all boys, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade.  This is not a 5 on 5 but a time to work on individual shooting skills.  Every Tuesday until the end of the year.  From 7:50 AM to 8:30 AM.  Any Questions,  contact Coach Miller

• Baseball- Jags GOLD Team captures a huge 20-5 win against North Harrison.

Clubs (We also have a club bulletin board located in the Commons near the Cafe’)

• Campus Life:

  • The final Campus Life of the year for 5th – 8th Grade will be this Friday, May 7 after school in the cafeteria until 5pm. Be sure not to miss this special finale.

  • May 11 – 7th /8th Grade will be invited to join us for a taste of FC Campus Life.

  • Monday, May 17 – 8th Grade will be invited to join us for a taste of FC Campus Life.

• Intramurals (Enter Door 28) ~

  • 7th and 8th grade  ~ Thursday at 7:30am in the gym.

  • 5th and 6th grade  ~ Friday at 7:30am in the gym.

OTHER Announcements

• Chromebooks ~ 5th – 7th Grade Students will keep their Chromebooks over the summer and have for the start of school for next year.  We will NOT collect at the end of May.  Technology will be taking an inventory before the end of school.

• iPads ~ 8th Grade Students will turn in their devices on the last student day, May 27.  Virtual students can drop them off on Friday, May 28 during office hours.

    • May 19 – FKE – 9:15 – 10:30

    • May 21 – Georgetown – 9:15 – 10:30

  • PTO Meeting – Monday, May 17 @ 5pm in the Library

  • 8th Grade Awards Day (in-person) – Thursday, May 27 (more info to come) *Virtual Awards Day for Grades 5 – 7.

• Free Tutoring ~ Highland Hills offers after-school tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45 – 5:15pm in the areas of Math and English/Language Arts.  This is free for our HHMS students but you MUST let us know by the day before for participation so that we are prepared for you.  Please complete the form and turn in at the office:  HHMS After-school Tutoring Ticket

• Technology issues for Virtual

  • Incident-IQ Help Desk system ~ Visit https://nafcs.incidentiq.com/ -if prompted, enter your school Google login information or call  812-542-4700 and use option 1, on school days between 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM.  Please leave a message with your name, school and overview of the issue you are experiencing.  Please do not call your school building directly and ask for tech support.

• Technology issues for In-Person (only if you are at school today)

If the student is in-person at HHMS, have one of their teachers contact Lanny Howard to set up a time to be seen that school day.  There are also paper copies of request forms to explain the situation that are available outside his office.
