  • Congratulations to the 8th grade girls’ basketball team who are the 2023 Clark/Floyd Tournament Champions!  They defeated Charlestown on Monday 32 to 31, hitting a three pointer with 1.6 seconds left to bring the Championship home.  It was a great team effort and the win also snapped Charlestown’s 85 game win streak.  We also want to give a big shout out to the cheerleaders and students who traveled to Charlestown to cheer on the Lady Jags!  The 8th grade players finish their middle school career with one runner-up and two Clark/Floyd Tournament Championships.  Coach Hayse was extremely proud to coach this team and good luck to all of the players going forward!  This year’s players: Maya Brogan, Jadyn Drury, Aubrey Duckworth, Hudson Holt, Shelby Moore, Ava Reynolds, Riley Roberts, Adeline Shultz, Cooper Stiefvater, and Kara Walter.”

Car Rider Pick-up and Drop Off

All car riders dropping off or picking up students will enter the Indian Creek Lane entrance (NOT our main entrance).  The front is for Buses and Staff Parking only.  Once you pass the tennis courts, you will use:

  • Morning drop-off:

  • To alleviate congestion on the main road in the morning, we will allow vehicles to use either the upper or lower car rider lines to drop off their students based on traffic flow.

  • Only 5th-grade students will be allowed to go straight to their classroom at 8:40am.

  • All 6th, 7th, & 8th-grade students using the upper car rider line will use the back stairwell with supervision to walk down to the Commons/Cafe’/Gym.  These students should NOT stop at their locker or their classrooms unsupervised.

  • Please stay in your lane and remain in that lane.  If you are in the right lane, that will be taking you up to the upper car rider line.  If you are in the left lane, that will take you to the lower car rider lane.  For safety measures, you should NOT switch lanes at the 3-way stop.

  • Don’t release students from your vehicle until 8:40am in both the upper and lower car rider lines. This is for their safety.

  • Afternoon pick-up:

    • The right-hand lane to enter the Upper Car Rider Circle (5th & 6th  Grade ONLY)

    • The left-hand lane to use the Lower Car Rider Circle (for vehicles that have any 7th or 8th Grade students)

  • All vehicles will NEED to stop at the 3-Way stop in the back.  (We are still waiting on the white lines to be painted)

  • Both lanes will exit using the side parking lot (orange below)

  • Cars attempting to enter the front entrance will be directed to the Indian Creek Lane for drop off.  We appreciate your cooperation.

  • If you arrive at HHMS at 9:00, you need to use the front entrance and walk your student in for a Tardy pass. (The back doors will be locked for safety reasons)

  • Highland Hills is actively seeking adult volunteers to join our Mentor Mii Program. If you are interested in becoming a mentor for a student in need, please reach out to Nicole Smith nsmith@nafcs.org. This would involve meeting with a student once a week for approximately 30 minutes.

  • Did you know that there is a full service medical clinic that is open to all NAFCS students and staff, housed at New Albany High School and staffed by Lifesprings Doctors and Nurses. Right now they are taking same day appointments. No insurance, no worries. During a time that it is difficult to get in to any doctor, your kiddo can be seen the same day! They can prescribe routine medications and all the things any doctor’s office or urgent care can do. They also offer sports physicals. For an appointment call 812-981-7452. This is an awesome partnership and perk for all NAFCS students and staff!

Here is the flyer, but the “Lifespring” at the top seems to confuse people, thinking it is for mental health services, but it is not:
