Here is the schedule for the Book Fair:

  • HHMS Secret Angel Program

As part of our PTO Fall Outreach Program, we have the opportunity to help our own local community this holiday season. Please take a moment to look over the wish list and sign up for the angel(s) you would like to sponsor. These families are not receiving assistance elsewhere during the holiday season. To view the wish list and directions for participation, go to tiny.cc/HHMSSecretAngel2021 . Gifts are due in the office by Friday, December 3.  Thank you for your generosity and joyful giving.   • Come to Callistus Smith Agency for a free photo with Santa on December 8th from 4-7pm! We’ll have cookies and crafts to-go. Please visit bit.ly/SantaCSAgency for more information.

 

 

Athletics Announcements (We also have an athletic bulletin board located in the Commons near the pool)

 

 

  • On Wednesday, the 7th grade girls defeated Park View 35-17. The Jaguars were led in scoring by Jadyn Drury, Riley Roberts, and Maya Brogan. On defense, the Jaguars had a total team effort, and were led by Cooper Stiefvater and Aubrey Duckworth. The 7th grade girls play Silver Creek at home on Thursday at 6.

 

  • Tuesday night the 5th grade girls basketball team beat Hazelwood by a score of 26 to 6.  On Wednesday night the 5th grade girls basketball team beat Henryville by a score of 34 to 12.  This game was won by our best defensive game of the season.  Maci Senn led the team in scoring with 12 points followed by Bentley Cooley with 7.

  •  The 6th grade Lady Jags basketball team improved to 6 and 1 on the season by beating Parkview Middle school last night 46 to 0.   It was a great overall team effort where every Jag scored in the game! Congratulations! The Lady Jaguars were led in scoring last night by Lyla Jenks with 13 points, Claire Vierling with 7 points, and Emma Lawless with 6 points.  The team is back in action next Monday night!

 

  • 5th Grade Boys Basketball Tryouts (Coach Miller)

    • Athletes must have a physical on file to try out.

    • 7:00 – 8:30am on December 6

    • 7:00 – 8:30am on December 7

    • 5:30 – 7:00pm on December 8

 

  • 6th Grade Boys Basketball Open Gym

    • 4:00 – 5:30pm on December 7 (Coach Noble)

 

  • 6th Grade Boys Basketball Tryouts

    • Athletes must have a physical on file to try out.

Clubs (We have a club bulletin board located in the Commons near the Cafe’)

  • Jags Clover Club will meet from 4:00-5:15 today in Miss Guy’s room A287.

 

  • Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) Club in Library from 3:45 – 4:45pm (Strause, Boehnlein, C. Hynes)

  • Fishing Club – The NAFCS Fishing Club will meet:  in E101 at FCHS from 6:00 – 7:00pm on  December 13

  • Intramurals is for any student who is interested in playing sports before the school day begins.  We play a different sport every week.  Drop off for intramurals is door 28.   If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Fox.

    • 7th and 8th grade is on Thursdays from 7:30 – 8:30 am.

    • 5th and 6th grade is on Fridays from 7:30 – 8:30am.

  • The Chess Club meets every Monday after school until 5pm.  Everyone is welcome to attend, no experience required.  The club will meet in Mrs. Milliner’s room (A102).

  • The Book Club for 5th & 6th grade students will meet on Mondays afterschool until 5:00pm in the library.  See Ms. Durham if you have any questions. (Dec. 6)

  • Dungeons and Dragons ~ If you play Dungeons and Dragons or would like to learn how to play.  You are welcome to come to the newly formed Dungeons and Dragons club.  We will meet on Thursdays until 5:00 in the cafe’.

  • The Yearbook team is adding a new section this year. They will be accepting jokes and funny comics that could be featured in the yearbook. Email lghobgood@student.nafcs.org with submissions.

  • Floyd County is currently in the “Orange” with Covid restrictions.

  • Masks are MANDATORY at NAFC schools.

  • Send students to school with a mask.

  • Visitors at all events (athletics and music events) need to be masked up.

  • Players on the court will be able to remove masks while playing. While on the sideline, they should be masked up.

  • Band students will be able to remove masks while playing instruments.

  • Field Trips are postponed/canceled at this time.

  • Contact Tracing will be done within 3 feet for 15 or more minutes.

  • Vaccinated students will not be quarantined if in close contact.  Please send in documentation to our health office if you haven’t already done so.

  • There continues to be a Federal Transportation Mask Mandate in effect for buses.

  • If your student is in quarantine, please remind them to get on Google Classroom to work asynchronously so they do not get behind on their classwork.
