Highland Hills Afternoon Announcement for Friday, November 13, 2020

  • Please be advised that, due to a bus driver shortage the following buses will not be running:
    • Bus #17-9 – Mrs. Reynolds – Slot #23  through 11/13
    • Bus #12-7 – Mr. Jason Eaton – Slot #26 through 11/13
    • Bus #21-6 – Mrs. Sohaney – Slot #25 through 11/18
    • Bus #18-6 – Ms. Rebecca Andres – Slot #14 through 11/16

Sorry for the inconvenience.  Please transport your student to/from school until then.

  • Here’s our Virtual Veterans Day Program that was sent out for our students and staff yesterday. Thank you to all of our school family members that have or are still serving in the military.

  • Monday (Green Day) – 5th/6th Grade are Present & 7th/8th Gr with Last Name A-K are Present at school; Only 7th/8th with Last Name L-Z is virtual
  • Tuesday (Gold Day) –  5th/6th Grade are Present & 7th/8th Gr with Last Name L-Z are Present at school; Only 7th/8th with Last Name A-K is virtual
  • Wednesday – Virtual for ALL students (with revised schedule) for Nov. 18, Dec. 9; (*Note: Dec. 2, Dec. 16 are traditional days for 5th/6th Grade but 7th/8th will be Virtual using the regular schedule)
  • Thursday (Green Day) – 5th/6th Grade are Present & 7th/8th Gr with Last Name A-K are Present at school; Only 7th/8th with Last Name L-Z is virtual

For Parents:

  • Don’t forget to submit the address verification documentation. This is for ALL families.  Note: please remove any other personal information from the document – all that is needed is the verifiable address. Whichever method you choose – but include your student’s name and school so that it can be directed to the correct place. If you are sending in for multiple students, please include each student’s name and school. Take a picture or scan the documentation and email to verify@nafcs.org. Mail the documentation to your child’s school. If your child attends school in person, you may send this in with the child.
  • HHMS Secret Angel Program

As part of our PTO Fall Outreach Program, we have the opportunity to help our own local community this holiday season. Please take a moment to look over the wish list and sign up for the angel(s) you would like to sponsor. These families are not receiving assistance elsewhere during the holiday season.   • Online book fair is open!  Shop now for the holidays! Proceeds go to help buy books for kids, things in the library, and grants for teachers and staff. Thank you! (thru Nov. 22)

  • Are you a virtual student who wants to be in the yearbook? Well strike a pose! The yearbook staff is requesting you send in pictures of your at home set up to rbenning@nafcs.org or find us on Facebook by searching Highland Hills Yearbook.
  • Red Ribbon Week 2020 was a time where students learned about natural highs in order to encourage & educate students to remain drug-free.  During the week students participated in dress-up days, as well as played some fun games to promote Red Ribbon Week.  Please watch this video montage to see some of the highlights we had at HHMS. https://youtu.be/BXLorCvLMfU
  • 5th Grade Boys Basketball Open Gym – Nov. 19 from 4:00-5:00; Dec. 3 from 4:00-5:00; Dec. 10 from 4:00-5:00
  • 6th Grade Boys Basketball Open Gym – Nov. 19 (7-8:30); Nov. 24 (5:30 – 7); Nov. 30 (7-8:30); Dec. 4 (4-5:30)
  • Football players, don’t forget that the 2020 Football Season Celebration will be Friday, Nov. 13 after school until 5:30pm.  This is limited to PLAYERS ONLY.  Bring workout clothes and tennis shoes to play games in the gym! For questions, See Coach Howard.

  • Campus Life begins again at HHMS this week. 7/8th Graders will meet on Tuesdays and 5/6th graders will meet on Fridays. Both clubs will meet after school until 4:45pm in Room C130. Campus Life is a positive place where students can have fun with friends, talk about relevant issues, and be heard without judgment. It’s a place where you will be challenged to make good decisions and lead in a positive way here at HHMS.
  • Mr. Brogan (6th grade girls coach) will be driving the minibus with the 6th grade team to River Valley on 11-19-20 at 4:15 pm for a 5:30 tip off.  Parents will know of the earlier than normal start and it is only the 6th grade, 7/8th will ride yellow busses at the normal time of 4:45.  Clark County is ONLY allowing visiting teams to have 2 tickets per student on the roster.
