Announcements 1-31-22

Highland Hills Middle School Afternoon Announcement for Monday, January 31, 2022

We have one bus not running today, Monday, January 31st:

  • Highland Hills: Marnie Shallers, Bus 20-6 HH #1, Slot #8

  • Parent Reminders ~ Things that are helpful:

    • Call or send in a note to the office for early dismissals to expedite the process.

    • Having your student have all of their belongings ready to go to exit the vehicle upon arrival to the car rider line. (Please have them get out anywhere by the sidewalk)

    • Do NOT go around buses or other vehicles that are dropping off students.

    • For safety, Students should NEVER walk in the parking lot on their own.  An adult must walk with them.

  • Highland Hills Middle School needs your help.  A letter was sent out in 2021 and again twice in 2022 outlining a request from the Indiana Department of Education for address verification.  They are requesting this verification for all students attending an Indiana school.  Highland Hills still has a few families that have not turned in a verification for their student(s).  This may be a bill, utility, phone, etc. with the confidential information blacked out.  Please send a copy with your student or email a like document with this information to lroth@nafcs.org by January 31st.  Thank you for your time and help in this.

Please see the corporation website for all of the details COVID-19 Update – New Albany Floyd County

  • As of 1/31/22 – We can now allow our students age 12-17 to NOT have to quarantine if they do not have their booster.  They still need to be at least 2 weeks post their initial series, but they no longer need a booster to be considered up to date.  As long as they have their 2 doses and remain asymptomatic, they do not have to quarantine if they are considered to be a close contact.

  • If your student is in quarantine, please remind them to get on Google Classroom to work asynchronously so they do not get behind on their classwork.

  • If any household members have a pending covid test, please contact our school nurse, Heather Murray at 812.542.8501 or via email: hmurray@nafcs.org You may also email Mrs. Ivey @ wivey@nafcs.org.

  • The next PTO meeting will be 4:00pm on Monday, February 7th in the library. We’d love to have you there!
